First Tracks / Market brief 001

Sell the readiness work before the AI rollout.

A market opening to test for Salesforce and ServiceNow consultancies with relevant delivery capability. This is Ridgeline’s analysis of public sources, not a client result or a demand forecast.

Research reviewed September 20, 2026. Product scope, licensing, and partner eligibility must be checked for each proposed engagement.

The signal

The platform pitch creates practical delivery questions.

Salesforce’s consulting partner hub identifies data strategy as part of the work underpinning Agentforce deployment. Its partner directory also describes implementation work spanning agent design, integration, and governance. Salesforce partner hub · Salesforce consulting partners

ServiceNow’s governance guidance tells teams to assess instance readiness, data separation, and governance requirements. Its announced Microsoft integration extends the scope of agent governance across more tools. ServiceNow safeguards · ServiceNow announcement

The opening / Our interpretation

Give one buyer one readiness decision.

A consultancy with the required expertise can test a narrow readiness offer around one workflow. The buyer is a platform owner or operations leader who has an AI use case but cannot yet answer which data, permissions, controls, integrations, and measures it needs.

The proposed deliverable is a readiness decision: proceed, resolve named gaps, or stop. The assessment would cover one workflow, its data and access dependencies, required controls, an accountable owner, and criteria for a pilot. This is a suggested SI service offer, not a claim that Ridgeline provides technical implementation.

Test before scaling

Start with existing accounts.

As a proposed validation exercise, ask five relevant account owners which customers have a specific use case and an unresolved readiness decision. Run discovery with willing buyers. Record the blocker, sponsor, budget path, and whether the proposed assessment would support a real decision.

Continue only if discovery confirms a repeated problem, a sponsor, a viable commercial path, and delivery capability. If the evidence is mostly general AI interest, narrow the offer or stop. Partner announcements alone do not establish willingness to pay.

Risks and limits

Check vendor-delivered services, existing partner packages, licensing, and capability requirements. A consultancy needs credible technical delivery and security expertise to sell this work. Do not imply certification or vendor endorsement without authorization.
